Vaishnavi Pramodh is an Indian-born, UAE-raised filmmaker and art director. Her directorial portfolio includes two notable short films that have participated & been awarded in various international film festivals.
Her latest work, THE GUEST ROOM is a a bizarre and comedic exploration of individualism & liberty in an increasingly suppressive world - set in the living room of a man entertaining unexpected visitors. MILK TOOTH, her penultimate film follows the story of an 11-year old boy whose playful prank on a friend shatters his childlike perception of the world.
Influenced by her background in the visual arts, she often works with surreal narratives, using satirised visual motifs to explore themes of identity, fear and loss of self under rigid societal norms. When not writing or directing films, she is often creative/art director for editorial photography & music videos.
